TAG DAYS FUNDRAISER
All Marchers will be required to sign up for (2) two and a half hour shifts during the weekend.
Students will be selecting two mandatory 2.5 - hour shifts during rehearsals August 10-12, so please ensure they know their availability for Tag Days. During their shift, students will be playing instruments and performing color guard routines outside of local businesses, requesting monetary donations from business patrons in support of FHSMB.
We have some new Tag Day sponsors this year, including PieSci Pizza, Treat Dreams, Dessert Oasis, Pop's for Italian, Louisa's Street Food, and Olive's Bloombox. This is in addition to our previous sponsors: Scheer's Ace Hardware, Holiday Market, Western Market, Ferndale Foods, 7-Eleven, Apple Fritter, Treat Dreams, Biggby, and New York Bagel. Please support these local businesses as an appreciation for their support of our program.
We need parent volunteers to make this program a success! Click HERE for the SignUp Genius to volunteer to help with the event. Shifts are scheduled for 2.5 hours at a time. Remember, parent volunteers are foundational to the success of our band, and it is an expectation that all parents volunteer in some capacity during the season.

Many volunteers needed to run a drink booth at Arts, Beats, & Eats Festival in Royal Oak MI. We will need around 8 volunteers per shift, and we have about 5-7 shifts a day.

Bands of America Toledo Northwest Ohio Regional
Ferndale High School Marching Band will be participating in Bands of America Regional.
Music for All’s Bands of America (BOA) marching band championships are the premier events for marching band in the nation. BOA’s marching band shows offer positively life-changing experiences for the students, teachers, and parents of the bands who participate, as well as fans and spectators.

The Michigan Competing Band Association is a Michigan Non-profit Corporation dedicated to the promotion of instrumental music education in Michigan schools. It offers educational clinics for band directors, instructors and students featuring nationally known clinicians. MCBA sanctions marching band contests, which utilize rules and judging criteria developed and adopted by its members. MCBA holds an annual state championship contest.

Dome Day Marching Band Rehearsal

MCBA Flight 4 Finals at Ford Field
Ferndale High School Marching Band will be participating at the Ford Field MCBA Flight 4 Finals
The Michigan Competing Band Association is a Michigan Non-profit Corporation dedicated to the promotion of instrumental music education in Michigan schools. It offers educational clinics for band directors, instructors and students featuring nationally known clinicians. MCBA sanctions marching band contests, which utilize rules and judging criteria developed and adopted by its members. MCBA holds an annual state championship contest.

- Marchers will arrive back at the high school. They will need to get out of uniform, empty the truck of instruments and props, put away equipment, instruments, and uniforms, and watch the game tape with the whole band. Marchers will be dismissed when this is all completed.

We will be celebrating the season with the band and families. This is a volunteer based event and a pot luck where families will be asked to bring a dish to pass.

Memorial Day Parade
All 2025 Season Marching Band Members will be marching in the Memorial Day Parade
Location: Meet at High School Band Room
Call Time: 8:45 am
Marchers will walk from the High School to the start of the parade, perform during the parade, perform at the memorial, and then walk back to the High School.
